Privacy & Security Policy

Last revised: November 2026 · Client-Side Privacy by Design

Our Core Guarantee: Zero Data Transmission

All file compression, raster transformations, and PDF stream defragmentation execute locally on your device using client-side JavaScript, HTML5 Canvas, and WebAssembly. Your documents, photos, and personal information are never transmitted to any remote server or third party.

File Processing Lifecycle

When you select or drop files onto Kompres:

  • Files are read directly into your browser private memory space (Blob / TypedArray).
  • Calculations and compression algorithms run on your local device CPU.
  • Once you close the browser tab or refresh the page, memory references are automatically cleared by the garbage collector and permanently destroyed.

Anonymous Performance Metrics

To improve browser compatibility and monitor software health, we may measure anonymous aggregated metrics such as:

  • Aggregate page views and browser user-agent family (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
  • Page performance indicators (e.g. Core Web Vitals, page rendering latency).
  • Coarse geographic location (country level only, no precise IP tracking).

We never associate analytics logs with your files, filenames, or personal identity.

Cookies & Local Storage

We only use temporary browser IndexedDB storage to facilitate seamless file transfer between pages (for example, when selecting a PDF on the homepage and transferring it to the dedicated PDF studio). This data is automatically flushed after processing.
